The event was officially launched with an officiating speech by YAB Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri (Dr) Abang Haji Abdul Rahman Zohari Bin Tun Datuk Abang Haji Openg, Premier of Sarawak, who reaffirmed the state’s strong commitment to innovation and digital growth.
A fireside chat brought together leading voices from the animation, game development, esports, and metaverse sectors, offering valuable insights into the future of Malaysia’s digital creative landscape. The session was complemented by the recognition of Sarawak-based recipients of the Digital Content Grant and an engaging digital showcase tour. Among the grant recipients were Betapuru Digital and Metadise, reflecting the growing pool of creative talent emerging from the region.
This edition of JMD reaffirmed Malaysia’s commitment to empowering local creators, enhancing digital inclusivity, and accelerating the nation’s position as a regional digital content hub.
